Job Duties

Assessing a patient’s condition and planning and implementing patient care plans
Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
Assisting physicians in performing procedures
Observing and recording patient vital signs
Ensuring that ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly
Administering intravenous fluids and medications
Ordering diagnostic tests
Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team
Responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment

Experience & Skills Required

MUST have ACLS, BLS
2 yrs recent RN experience required, at least 1 year of recent SICU/Neuro ICU experience
Must be comfortable working fast paced unit - including management of EVDs, bolt monitors, ICP management, closed head injuries, seizure management, aneurysm management, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, intracranial tumor resection, trauma patient management including multiple long bone fractures, pelvic fractures, traction management, gun shot wounds, stab wounds, traumatic amputation, neurogenic, hypovolemic and septic shock, GI bleeds
