Job Duties

Breast imaging
Breast Biopsy
Works through radiologist requirements to provide appropriate views and films and provides additional views and variations of techniques
Provides excellent patient care
Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to
anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate betweennormal and pathologic findings
Analyses; sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, medical history, and communicates
findings to the appropriate physician
Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care

Experience & Skills Required

Associate's degree (or equivalent from two-year college) or certificate program in diagnostic medical sonography.
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (MG)
Accreditation must be attained prior to hire except for OB/GYN (one year to obtain accreditation)
