Histologist

Opportunity Description

HumanEdge has an immediate need for several Histotechnicians in Hartford.

Job Duties

Prepare and maintain reagents and equipment.
Grosses, Processes, Embeds and Cuts tissues.
Performs routine, Special, and Immunohistochemical staining.
Maintain procedures and records to meet all regulatory standards.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Assure appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling.
Maintain the integrity of the specimen and patient identification.
Demonstrates handles and disposes of specimens and chemical waste based on the laboratory’s procedure manual, and ensures compliance with regulatory policies.
Aid in discrepancy resolution.

Experience & Skills Required

Associates Science degree, BS degree, or related discipline in Histology required.
One year experience in Histology laboratory preferred
Demonstrates initiative, judgement and dependability.
Good verbal and written skills.
