The Registered Respiratory Therapist, reporting to the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors, plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment services as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, encompassing education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies.
Perform Intubation assistance and Ventilator set-up & management.
Gather necessary information to evaluate patient needs, including disease education, testing, and consultations with other healthcare professionals.
Develop rapport and mutual respect with patients/caregivers and team members to create an optimal environment for goal achievement.
Provide and document patient/caregiver education based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Adhere to Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand a minimum of 1 hour a day.
Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.
