Provide Basic Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
Monitor Vital Signs: Take and record patient vital signs like temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
Assist with Mobility: Help patients with walking, transferring from bed to wheelchair, and positioning to ensure comfort and safety.
Support Nurses and Medical Staff: Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
Observe and Report: Monitor patient conditions and report any significant changes in behavior, mood, or physical condition to nursing staff.
Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, orderly, and safe.
Document Care: Accurately record all patient care activities, vital signs, and observations into the medical chart.
Emotional Support: Provide compassionate interaction and emotional support to patients and their families.
These duties ensure patients receive quality, attentive care while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Experience & Skills Required
Active CNA License in the state of New Jersey.
Minimum 1 year of experience working as a CNA in a healthcare setting (hospital, nursing home, or long-term care facility preferred).
Experience with patient transfers and assisting with mobility (bed to wheelchair, etc.).
Familiarity with taking and recording vital signs.
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric care is a plus but not required.
Compassion and Patience: Ability to empathize with patients and provide emotional support while performing daily care tasks.
Strong Communication: Clear communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy in documenting patient information, recording vital signs, and noting changes in patient conditions.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, move, and assist patients who may have limited mobility.
Time Management: Ability to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient care effectively.
Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other healthcare staff, including RNs and LPNs, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
