Patient Care
Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, dressing wounds, and assisting with procedures.
Medical Administration
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and document findings.
Coordinate with pharmacy and other departments to ensure timely delivery of treatments.
Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-care instructions.
Supervision and Leadership
Supervise and mentor LPNs, nursing aides, and other support staff.
Delegate tasks as appropriate and ensure care quality.
Participate in staff training and performance evaluations.
Recordkeeping and Reporting
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Communicate critical patient information to physicians and other team members.
Ensure documentation complies with regulatory and organizational standards.
Clinical Procedures
Perform diagnostic tests such as blood draws, ECGs, and wound cultures.
Assist in complex medical procedures under the direction of physicians.
Emergency Response
Respond promptly to patient emergencies, providing critical care until advanced interventions are available.
Collaborate with emergency response teams to stabilize patients.
Experience & Skills Required
Required:
Active RN license in the state of practice.
Completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
Minimum 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, depending on the role and setting.
Preferred:
Experience in specialized fields such as ICU, ER, Med-Surg, Pediatrics, or Geriatrics.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and related software.
